Frontier Adds Internet Infrastructure Surcharge Again
| 2017-Dec-6 3:14 pm $ane.99 "Internet Infrastructure Surcharge" on Nov nib Just got this junk fee added to November bill. Called them and they told me it's "county tax", which I think is BS. I'k in North Texas. | |
| | |
| They call it different names in unlike parts of Us? | |
| 2017-December-6 3:32 pm Re: $1.99 "Internet Infrastructure Surcharge" on Nov nibFrom my last pecker: Important Cyberspace Service Information... | |
| I might have missed it but since I take $10 credit monthly I presume I'm on some sort of contract then not sure if information technology applies or not. Even more striking that customer service representative who handled my call only obviously made up "canton tax" as explanation for it. | |
| to artisticcheese0 I'm in the Portland, OR expanse and this BS just appeared on my nib for the first time too. | |
| ke7dkg | to artisticcheese0 The explanation from the nib was me, pitiful I wasn't logged in. Hither is the paste from the chat I just had: The Internet Infrastructure Surcharge is not a government tax or authorities surcharge. This fee is to defray some of the costs of maintenance of the local network. And so it merely a fashion for y'all to increase my rates without going thru the local cable commission. This is an infrastructure charge for maintenance. Then why not merely raise rates....... |
| If you search "internet infrastructure surcharge frontier" yous will find threads on this forum from 2011 Frontier doing the same SH** | |
| ultragc | to ke7dkg Hey, I just saw this too and got the same exact answer. This is what I got: "I contacted our credit blessing team for the Internet Infrastructure Surcharge notwithstanding this accuse is a valid surcharge and tin't be waived. This volition be the best toll that nosotros can offer for 150/150 Mbps and yous already have the best promotion since the regular charge for 150/150 is $109.99 and we are giving information technology to you with a discounted price of $66.98 per month before taxes." So what will stop them form imposing some crazy charges adjacent calendar week? |
| | So what will stop them form imposing some crazy charges next week? Absolutely goose egg. |
| | That arrange was filed over six years ago. And here's the outcome: »www.nka.com/news/frontie ··· pdate-three/ and the settlement details: »www.nka.com/wp-content/u ··· ment.pdf For Minnesota residents merely to boot... |
| ultragc | Now that they put the bill under the monthly service section, information technology is going to be harder to fight back. The CS basically said that the pecker does provide the info nigh changes. |
| to artisticcheese0 Merely saw it today also. Boo. | |
| | to darcilicious They really are only begging people to leave aren't they? I've been getting jerked around on pricing and billing for months and this month everything was almost sort of finally fixed and now poof a new fee. |
| to artisticcheese0 They charge this in Texas equally well. I have tried to talked but basically they said is a service charge. When my contract is washed with this guys, I'm washed with Frontier. This is just a big joke | |
| Ubiquiti Unifi Security Gateway Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-Air conditioning-LR Greenwave FiOS-G1100 | to artisticcheese0 Re: $1.99 "Internet Infrastructure Surcharge" on November billI have the same billing period (12/02/17 - 1/01/18) and it hasn't been added to my bill nevertheless. I'g sure it volition be soon. Information technology'south annoying they're dropping prices so much then make up one's mind to add random fees, only I'd even so rather pay an extra fee and go on fios than switch back to Spectrum. |
| Mr Man | to artisticcheese0 Toll gouge diquised as a cost of maintenance fee.If they stop paying their meridian heavy Execs echelon those inflated bonuses and commissions, they would non have to resort to trickery and have to nickel and dime consumers under this bogus f*ckery charge. They know they are pain for customers and the worse they tin can practice is this. If Borderland is smart, they will come with a two to 3 year strategy to increase their customer base by waiving all those bogus charges, reduce past fifty% to 70% the price of STB and router rentals, come up up with a no contract toll for life program on all parcel and unbundled servces and start growing once more. If in the face of contest they are scared of what other competitors will say, then they are toast. Frontier, you are so doing this wrong!! Time to phone call Uncle and change your concern programme...and STOP the junk fees!!!! |
Re: $1.99 "Cyberspace Infrastructure Surcharge" on Nov peckerI though the point of contract was that they can not change the terms of understanding including price. What is "toll protection programme" they are talking almost in their notation? | |
| ultragc | That is what I thought if yous have a contract. When I contacted them, they said it was non a contract. Instead, it was just a one twelvemonth renew at that price. Go figure! Next month, they might be adding a new line detail chosen "Happy Hr Fun" in your bill. : ) |
| And then if it'south not a contract then it can be cancelled someday on your side likewise. I will be looking effectually since I idea I'm under contract and apparently is not. | |
| 2017-Dec-8 3:17 pm Fees like this are nothing new...Comcast had a "Broadband TV fee" back in 2012. | |
| billhere | Spectrum looks inexpensive for new subscribers at $90 per month for a triple play with no taxes, no added fees, and a gratuitous DVR for 12 months. After that regular rates employ, any that means. I believe their Internet speeds are 100/ten with that bundle. |
| | to Anon79666 Pretty sure you mean broadcast TV fee, as I cannot find any info on this "broadband Boob tube fee" you lot speak of. That'south a normal fee and all providers (including DirecTV and DISH) charge this for retransmission of your local stations. |
| 2017-Dec-ix 12:27 am can ostend - here in Aloha, OR, noticed this on my November neb received today in December. I'm sure glad my banking company notified me of the charge increase. I would never take known of this charge change otherwise... | |
| | to artisticcheese0 Guess I lucked out. Don't seem to have this bogus charge on my Nov bill in Florida. |
| 2017-Dec-9 2:eleven pm Thatâdue south less than I pay charter for 10/100 so I wouldnât complain besides much if I was you | |
| xaebz56K | to artisticcheese0 Re: $i.99 "Internet Infrastructure Surcharge" on November billI just got the aforementioned. I wonder if this is the new gimmick to enhance prices. Last time it was a $2.00 hike on each of my iii cable boxes out of the bluish. |
| 2017-Dec-9 2:47 pm Re: $i.99 "Internet Infrastructure Surcharge" on November billI simply got the same. I wonder if this is the new gimmick to raise prices. Terminal time information technology was a $2.00 hike on each of my three cable boxes out of the blue. No doubt. It's just a matter of time earlier all cable companies get-go calculation under the tabular array fees for internet because of string cutting. | |
| None of u.s. is under contract who got price increase, right? Then we tin can vote with our feet if we want to. No official reason to complaint really if you think. It's probably will be labeled as bait and switch but probably legal, is not it? | |
